Hilltop Lodge is a motocross, quad, and dirt bike farm located in Emporium, Pennsylvania. Zane Cook (from Old Bike Barn) recently asked me if I would like to come camp, hang out, and ride dirt bikes for the weekend with him and a small group of family and friends.
I loaded up our van with a weekends worth of camping gear and supplies along with my dirt bike and my son's.
After about four hours on the road, we approached the lodge, and were greeted by the sounds of two and four-stroke bikes echoing through the trees and hills. With a 1970's AMA motocross track, fifty acres of wooded trails, and seven acres of beginner trails, we knew we were in for a killer weekend.
My son and I spent a lot of our time riding the wooded trails above the motocross track and the small flat track-esque oval closer to the lodge itself. Others spent a lot of time hitting the step-downs, doubles, and tabletops on the motocross track.
Evenings came and the campfire was set ablaze. Hot dogs and hamburgers were thrown on the grill as cold beers were opened and enjoyed by dirty and tired riders.
After a few days of riding at Hilltop Lodge, we reluctantly had to say goodbye and load up the van with all of our bikes and gear for the trip home.
The riding at Hilltop Lodge was more than worth the four- hour drive, and we are looking forward to returning next year for yet another great weekend on dirt bikes.
